    • Theme: it’s based on celebrating the benefits of Wind energy and providing education to the individuals about the power and potential of wind energy to change the world.
  • Obituaries: Long-distance great Hari Chand, a two-time Olympian, and a double Asian Games gold medallist passed away in Jalandhar at the age of 69.
  • Appointments: Zydus Lifesciences Limited announced that Chairman Pankaj R Patel has been appointed as a part-time non-official director in the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
  • Reports & Indices: The National e-governance service delivery assessment (NeSDA) report 2021 was released Jammu and Kashmir have ranked at 1st position among Union Territories, with overall compliance of around 90 percent for national e-governance service delivery assessment (NeSDA).

    • Recently 2022 Environmental Performance Index (EPI) was released. India has been ranked at 180th position, at the bottom of the 2022 Index.
  • Banking & Insurance: HDFC Bank signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a leading early-stage venture capital firm, 100X.VC to support start-ups.
  • Important Cabinet Approvals: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved a moratorium of three years for Cochin Port Authority (CoPA) for repayment of loans amounting to Rs. 446.83 crores to the central government.
    • It has also approved the proposal for the development of Phase 1 of the new greenfield airport in Dholera, Gujarat at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,305 crore. It will be completed by 2025-26.
    • The Union Cabinet approved Agnipath, a new recruitment scheme for Indian youth to serve in the armed forces. The scheme will allow youths to serve in the Armed Forces for four years.
  • Acquisitions: The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved Tata Group-owned Air India’s proposal to buy the entire equity share capital of low-cost carrier AirAsia India, in which Tata has a majority stake, to merge into a single airline.
  • SANA Health Solutions has launched its digital healthcare business intending to simplify the long and tedious search for employee welfare and healthcare programs.
  • According to Gartner, Inc Indian government’s spending on information technology is expected to grow 12.1% to $9.5 billion in 2022, far higher than the 5% rise globally.
  • Thailand became the first Asian country to decriminalize cannabis. Under decriminalization, it is no longer a crime to grow and trade marijuana and hemp products, or use parts of the plant to treat illness.
  • The ultra-luxury Sir M Visvesvaraya Railway Terminal in Karnataka’s capital city Bengaluru was made operational.
  • India’s first private train service under the ‘Bharat Gaurav Scheme’ was flagged off. The first train to be operated between Coimbatore and Shirdi by a private operator.
