  • National News
    • India’s first underwater train to be launched in Kolkata. The train runs under a river covering a distance of 16.34 km east-west corridor.
      • Under the entire length of the metro, 10.8 km is underground and 520 meters is an underwater tunnel.
      • The train will cover a distance from Sector V to Howrah under the Hoogly river in 27 minutes. The train will be operational by 2023.
      • The tunnel for the routes was created by Afcons, a construction company in 2017.
  • Sports
    • Reliance Industries partners with the Athletic federation of India for the growth of athletics in India.
      • The partnership aims to discover and develop athletes across the country and provide them with the best facilities.
      • The partnership will focus to bridge the gender gap and enable girl athletes to achieve their goals.

    • Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train gets clearance from the Maharashtra government.
      • Maharashtra Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis gives all clearances for the bullet train.
      • The 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed corridor is built at a cost of Rs. 1.1 trillion and will have 12 stations in Maharashtra and Gujarat.

    • Samsung created the world’s fastest DRAM chip. The 24-gigabyte graphics double data rate 6 (GDDR6) has third generation and 10-nanometer technology.
      • The DRAM chip has a data processing speed that is 30 percent faster than existing products.

    • Kotak Mahindra Bank becomes the first private bank to integrate with the new IT Portal
      • The customers of Kotak Mahindra Bank--individuals as well as corporates--can now pay their direct taxes through the e-pay tax tab on the portal using Kotak net banking or by visiting a branch.
