- The Indian Navy received two MH-60 R multirole helicopters from the United States at Cochin International Airport. The third helicopter is scheduled to be delivered in August this year, while the delivery of all 24 MH 60R helicopters will be completed by 2025.

- The city-based conglomerate Bharat Forge has signed an agreement to form a joint venture with the Spanish rolling stock manufacturer Talgo to manufacture high-speed trains for the Indian market, with the alliance targeting business with the Indian Railways, and mentioning the railways’ recent tender for 100 new lightweights, energy-efficient trains.

- July 29 - International Tiger Day: Every year July 29 is celebrated as International Tiger day to raise awareness about the conservation of tigers. This day was first celebrated in 2010 after it was found that 97% of wild tigers had disappeared in the last century with only 3000 of them remaining.

State news
- Telangana state government will provide free water supply upto 20,000 litres to all domestic consumers. The government said Domestic-Slum, Domestic-Individual, Domestic-Multi storeyed buildings(MSB)/Bulk connections are eligible for free water supply.
- The Tamil Nadu government issued a formal order to roll out the free breakfast scheme for students studying in classes one to five in selected government schools in the state. The government has budgeted Rs 33 crore for the scheme, which will be implemented in 1,500 schools in the first phase, and will start in mid-September.
