- The meeting was attended by the Chief Ministers of Kerala (Pinarayi Vijayan), Karnataka (Basavaraj Bommai), Tamil Nadu (M K Stalin), the Lieutenant Governors of Puducherry (Tamilisai Soundararajan), Andaman and Nicobar Islands (Admiral D K Joshi), the Administrator of Lakshadweep (Praful Patel), Chief Secretaries of Southern Zonal Council States, Union Home Secretary, Secretary Inter-State Council Secretariat and other Senior officials of State and Central Ministries and Departments.
- After the meeting, Shah said that out of the 26 issues discussed, 9 were resolved and 17 were reserved for further consideration.

- Issues related to Fisheries and the importance of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.
- Issues related to Narcotics and QR-enabled PVC Aadhar cards were given to more than 12 lakh fishermen for recognition.

- Zonal Councils are statutory bodies established under the State Reorganization Act of 1956. There are five Zonal Councils (ZCs), namely, Northern ZC, Southern ZC, Eastern ZC, Western ZC, and Central ZC. Union Home Minister is the Chairperson of all these Councils.
- Note: North-Eastern Council was created by the North-Eastern Council Act of 1971 and is different from the above-mentioned five “Zonal Councils”.
