- The “Swachhta” portal has been developed by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).
- The portal was launched as part of the special Swachhata Campaign 2.0 which will begin on October 2.
- All the central ministries, central departments, and all other attached and subordinate, and autonomous bodies of the Government of India (GOI) will take part in the Swachhta Campaign 2.0.
- According to the Ministry, in 2021 during the first phase of the campaign, 6000 sites were covered for cleanliness purposes, which is likely to touch 100,000 in 2022.
- At the inaugural event, Dr. Jitendra also said that the campaign this year reiterates the importance of timely disposal of work and a clean workspace and is expected to cover more than 1.5 lakh post offices, railway stations, overseas missions or posts, and other public offices.
