- National News:
- The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched two helipad projects in Ladakh. The helipads will be constructed in Hanle and Thakung in Eastern Ladakh.
- More than 135 people died and several hundred were reported injured in a suspension bridge collapse in the Morbi district of Gujarat. It was a pedestrian bridge built over the Machchhu river and was opened to the common public 5 days before the collapse.
- In order to ensure availability and to maintain a check on the domestic prices, the Government of India extended the ban on the export of sugar for 1 year till October 31, 2023.
