  • National News:
    • The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched two helipad projects in Ladakh. The helipads will be constructed in Hanle and Thakung in Eastern Ladakh.
    • More than 135 people died and several hundred were reported injured in a suspension bridge collapse in the Morbi district of Gujarat. It was a pedestrian bridge built over the Machchhu river and was opened to the common public 5 days before the collapse.
    • In order to ensure availability and to maintain a check on the domestic prices, the Government of India extended the ban on the export of sugar for 1 year till October 31, 2023.
    • The K. Chandrashekar Rao-led Telangana government withdrew its general consent to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which will bar the CBI from investigating the cases in the State.
  • International News:
    • More than 150 people were killed in a Halloween stampede caused due to overcrowding in the capital of South Korea, Seoul.
    • More than 100 people were killed and around 300 were injured in two car explosions in the capital of Somalia, Mogadishu. Terrorist group al-Shabaab is the prime suspect behind these explosions.
