India, France re-elected for ISA leadership

Current Context: India and France were re-elected as President and co-president of the International Solar Alliance.

• They are elected at the fifth general assembly of the body.
• Accordingly, Union Power and New and Renewable Energy Minister R K Singh will be the president of the body.
• France’s Minister of State for Development, Francophonie, and International Partnerships will be its co-president.
• The alliance will work to improve energy access and security worldwide.
• New leaders will keenly work to achieve the goal to unlock USD 1 trillion in investment by 2030.
