Current Context: The Agni Prime New Generation Ballistic Missile was tested successfully by ISRO off the coast of Odisha.

• It is the third consecutive successful testing of the Agni Prime New Generation Ballistic Missile.
• The previous two successful tests were in June 2021 and December 2021.
• Agni Prime is a nuclear-capable two-stage canisterized missile with a maximum range of 2000 kilometers.
• Canisterization helps it to be stored for a longer period of time and gives it the ability to be transported easily whenever, wherever.
• Agni Prime can be launched by rail or road.
