  • National News:
    • The Government of India approved Uttar Pradesh’s Ranipur Tiger Reserve to be the 53rd Tiger Reserve of India. The Ranipur Tiger Reserve is spread across a 529.36 sq km area. It will be the 4th Tiger Reserve of UP.
    • The Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, and SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom inaugurated the Chenab White Water Rafting Festival in Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir. Around 2000 people participated in this event.
    • The Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the country’s second Rashtriya Adarsh Veda Vidyalaya (RAVV) or National Model Vedic School in Puri, Odisha.
    • The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, inaugurated North India’s first Hyper-Scale Data Centre – YOTTA D1 at the Greater Noida Data Center Park.
    • A monetary penalty of Rs 1.76 crores was imposed on Vakrangee Ltd. by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for not complying with its directions on ATM deployment targets.

    • Despite Russia’s withdrawal, the United Nations (UN), Türkiye, and Ukraine agreed to implement the Black Sea Grain Deal.

    • Luiz Incio Lula da Silva or Lula of the Worker’s Party defeated incumbent Jair Bolsonaro of the Liberal Party to become the President of Brazil for the third time.

    • In the S&P Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) rankings, the “maharatna” company Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), achieved the 1st Rank in the Indian Oil and Gas Sector.
  • Obituary:
    • Padma Bhushan awardee Jamshed J Irani passed away at the age of 86. He was famously known as the “Steel Man of India”.
    • The eminent artist of Assam, Neel Pawan Baruah, passed away at age 84. In 2021 the Assam government conferred him with the “Assam Sourabh” award.
  • Sports:
    • French Open Super 2022 Badminton Tournament: Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty of India won the French Open Super 2022 Badminton Tournament Men’s Doubles Title after beating Chinese Taipei’s Lu Ching Yao and Yang Po Han in the finals by 21-13, 21-19.
