  • National News:
    • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a month-long “Kashi Tamil Sangamam” in Varanasi, UP with the objective to celebrate the age-old link between the two ancient seats of learning.
    • The National Museum, New Delhi, and Museum Kolding, Denmark, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to open the joint exhibition “Silver Treasures from Denmark and India” in 2023.
    • Three Indian Army soldiers were killed in an avalanche that hit the Army Patrol in north Kashmir’s Machil Kupwara sector, Jammu & Kashmir.
    • Tamil Nadu’s Forest Department came up with India’s first Elephant Death Audit Framework for a more detailed and transparent process for recording and monitoring elephant deaths in the State.
    • The CM of Tripura, Dr. Manik Saha, launched the “Amar Sarkar” portal with the objective to ensure that all central and state-sponsored schemes reach every doorstep.

  • International News:
    • Chinese scientists have decided to send monkeys into space to study the reproduction process in animals in zero gravity. The experiment will be conducted in the Wentian Lab Module.
    • As per the United Nations (UN), Russian fertilizers that were blocked at the European ports will be shipped from November 21.
  • Important Days:
    • Every year November 20 is celebrated as World Children’s Day (WCD) across the world. It is an initiative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The theme of WCD-2022 is “Inclusion, for every child”.
  • Appointments:
    • Bandaru Wilsonbabu was appointed as India’s Ambassador to the Union of Comoros. Wilsonbabu is a 2004-batch IFS officer.
    • The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India, Rajiv Kumar, was invited by the Election Commission of Nepal as an International Observer for upcoming Nepal’s General and Assembly Elections.

    • During his four-day visit to France, the Indian Army Chief, Manoj Pande, received the prestigious Guard of Honour at the Les Invalides in Paris, France.
