  • National News:
    • The gross GST revenue recorded the second-highest monthly collection ever in October 2022 with Rs. 1,51,718 crores.
    • The Government of India gave its approval to naming the new Greenfield Airport at Hollongi, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh as “Donyi Polo Airport”.
    • The Ministry of Education released a report on the Performance Grading Index (PGI) for 2020-21. The PGI comprises 1,000 points over 70 indicators and 2 categories.
    • The three-day Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO) Conference was inaugurated in Goa.
    • The Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K Sangma, launched the “Citizen Engagement and Communication Programme” for the successful penetration of government schemes at the grassroots.
    • AirAsia sold its remaining 16.33% equity stakes in AirAsia India to Air India for Rs. 156 crores and exited AirAsia India.

    • The 41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) was inaugurated by the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi at the Expo Centre Sharjah.
  • Appointments:
    • Vetsa Ramakrishna Gupta was appointed as the interim CMD of the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).
    • Two women officers Annie Abraham and Seema Dhundia were appointed as the Inspector General (IG) of the Rapid Action Force and the Bihar Sector respectively by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

    • The late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar, nicknamed “Appu”, was posthumously conferred the Karnataka Ratna award.
  • Obituary:
    • The Gandhian activist and the founder of the Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), Ela Bhatt passed away at the age of 89. She was the recipient of the Padma Bhushan Award, the Ramon Magsaysay Award, the Gandhi Peace Prize, etc.
  • Sports:
    • India beat Bangladesh by 5 runs (DLS Method) in the Super-12 stage of the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup which is being held in Australia. Virat Kohli was awarded the Player of the Match award for his 64*(44).
