  • National News:
    • The Ministry of Education set up a high-level panel under the Chairmanship of Dr. K Radhakrishnan, to strengthen the accreditation of higher educational institutions as envisioned in the National Education Policy, 2020.
    • The sixth edition of Ganga Utsav was inaugurated in New Delhi by the Union Minister for Culture, Tourism & DoNER, G Kishan Reddy.
    • In accordance with its “Go Green Initiative”, the Indian Army collaborated with Tata Powers to install 16 EV charging stations in several areas of Delhi Cantonment.
    • The Chief Minister of Haryana, ML Khattar, launched the “CM Dashboard” with the objective to obtain real-time data on all departments along with the decisions taken on major schemes.
    • The “Lakhpati Didi” Scheme was launched by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami. The scheme was launched with the objective to make at least 1.25 lakh women involved in SHG, “lakhpati” by 2025.

  • International News:
    • The world’s longest train was launched in Switzerland. The 1910-meter-long train consists of 100 coaches and 4,550 seats and weighs 2,990 tons.
    • The group of scientists at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile found three near-Earth asteroids out of which one of them, 2022 AP7, was categorized as “possibly harmful” to Earth.
    • The 5-day military exercise between the USA and South Korea (Republic of Korea), Operation Vigilant Storm, concluded in South Korea. The joint exercise involved more than a thousand military personnel and 240 aircraft.
  • Important Days:
    • Every year November 05 is observed as World Tsunami Awareness Day (WTAD) across the world. It is an initiative of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The theme of WTAD-2022 is, “Early Warning and Early Action Before Every Tsunami”.
  • Awards and Honors:
    • Eminent Malayalam fiction writer, A. Sethumadhavan aka Sethu was awarded the Ezhuthachan Puraskaram by the Kerala government for his contribution to the field of Malayalam language and literature.
    • The former Consulate-General of India to Australia, Amit Dasgupta, was honoured with the Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia Award for his service to the Australia-India bilateral relationship.
    • Renowned Malayalam author and Jnanpith awardee, M T Vasudevan Nair, was awarded the inaugural Kerala Jyothi Award.
  • Obituary:
    • The MLA in Arunachal Pradesh from the Lumla Assembly in Tawang district, Jambey Tashi passed away at the age of 48.
    • Veteran fine arts scholar and critic, Vijayakumar Menon, passed away at the age of 76. He was the recipient of the prestigious, Kerala Lalithakala Akademi prize.
