- National News:
- In a 3:2 verdict, the Supreme Court of India held the constitutional validity of the 10% reservation for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in government jobs and colleges across India. The assenting judgments were given by Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, Justice Bela M Trivedi, and Justice J B Pardiwala while the dissenting judgments were given by CJI UU Lalit and Justice Ravindra Bhat.
- Russia surpassed Saudi Arabia and Iraq to become the top supplier of crude oil to India in October 2022. Presently, Russia accounts for around 22% of the crude oil imports of India.
