  • National Affairs: Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) approves 24 Capital Acquisition Proposals worth Rs. 84,328 crores. The 24 Capital Acquisition consist of 6 for the Indian Army, 6 for Indian Air Force, 10 for the Indian Navy, and 2 for the Indian Coast Guard.
    • Sania Mirza is the first Indian Muslim Female Fighter Pilot. She has cleared her National Defence Academy(NDA) Exam with 149th rank. She hails from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Banking and Finance: Tata Power Company has received Rs. 450 crore sustainable trade credit facility from Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group of Japan. With this 2 solar power plants will be set up in Parthur, Maharashtra, and Mesanka, Gujarat.
  • Economy and Business: Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has selected Reliance Jio for its Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN). So Reliance Jio will manage around 7,200 retail outlets of IOCL for the period of 5 years.

    • The unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) building has been awarded with the GRIHA Exemplary Performance Award 2022 in the Green building category. GRIHA means Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment.

  • Appointments and Reginations: Shamsher Singh is appointed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SBI Fund Management. He will replace Vinay M Tonse. SBI Fund Management is the joint venture of the State Bank of India and Amundi, Europe’s largest Asset Management Company.
  • Sports: Saikhom Mirabai Chanu wins the Silver Medal in Weightlifting in the 49kg women's category at IWF World Championships 2022 took place in Bogota, Colombia. She is a 2020 Tokyo Olympic Silver Medalist from India.
    • Brazil becomes the Number 1 team in the 2022 FIFA Ranking. It is followed by Argentina in 2nd place and France in 3rd Place. Argentina is the FIFA World Cup winner of 2022 took place in Qatar.
  • Obituary: Kaikala Satyanarayana passed away at the age of 87 in Hyderabad. He is a veteran Telugu Actor. He is well known for his role as a villain and other characters. He has acted in around 700 films.
  • Important Days: National Consumer Rights Day is celebrated on December 24 annually. This is to protect the rights of consumers and it is promoted across India. The consumer has to be more aware of their rights and responsibilities.
    • Two Central Ayurvedic Research Institutes (CARI) of New Delhi and Jhansi have received Accreditation. The Accreditation is given by the Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers and National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories.
  • Bharti Airtel and Apollo Hospitals collaborated for 5G Colonoscopy
  • New Secretariat to preserve land and ocean by 2030
  • NSE receives in-principle approval from SEBI as separate segment
