  • National News:
    • An All Party meeting, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, was held on 5th December to discuss aspects relating to India’s G20 Presidency.
    • The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, approved the introduction of a new design for the President’s Standard and Color and Indian Navy Crest for the Indian Navy, which was unveiled on Navy Day at Visakhapatnam.
    • In order to address various challenges in the agriculture sector, the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar, inaugurated the integrated “Agriculture Investment Portal”.
    • The “Technotex 2023”, the nation’s premier show on Technical Textiles, will be held in Mumbai from 22nd to 24th February 2023.
    • A monetary penalty of INR 5 lakh was imposed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on the Bharat Cooperative Bank Limited, Bengaluru for violating several regulations under Exposure Norms and Statutory / Other Restrictions.

    • The 17th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage was held in Rabat, Morocco. The 6-day annual gathering was chaired by Sameer Addahre.

      • Released by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
      • Singapore (99.96%) topped the rankings followed by the UAE (98.8%)
      • India (85.49%) jumped to the 48th spot from the 102nd position in 2018.

    • Every year 06 December is observed as the Mahaparinirvan Diwas (death anniversary) of the father of the Indian Constitution, Dr. BR Ambedkar.
  • Appointments:
    • The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment appointed Hansraj Gangaram Ahir as the Chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC).
    • KV Suresh Kumar was appointed as the Chairperson and Managing Director (CMD) of the Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited (BHAVINI) for a 3-year tenure.
