  • Gwalior Gaurav Diwas is also celebrated on the birth anniversary of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He is also known as the son of Gwalior.
  • One of the finest Indian politicians and diplomats, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, held the position of prime minister three times. Atal Bihari Vajpayee held the position of Prime Minister of India three times, the first time for just 13 days in 1996, the second for 13 months in 1998–1999, and the third and last time for a full term from 1999–2004.
  • He was a co-founder and prominent figure in the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). He served in the Indian Parliament for more than 50 years and was twice elected to the Rajya Sabha and ten times to the Lok Sabha.
  • In 1998, Atal Bihari Vajpayee was India's prime minister, and his country conducted one of the most notable Pokhran-II nuclear tests. He received the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian accolade, in 2015 from Pranab Mukherjee, the country's president. He passed away on August 16, 2018, from an ailment associated with aging.
