PM Modi launched PM-KISAN scheme’s 13th installment of Rs 16,800 crore

Current Context: PM Modi's plan to release 13th instalment of Rs 16,800cr under PM-KISAN scheme on Monday, February 27, 2023. Under this scheme, eligible farmers are provided with a financial benefit of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each every four months. The fund is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

Some of the eligibility criteria for PM-KISAN scheme are:

• The applicant should be a citizen of India
• The applicant should have landholdings of 2 hectares or less
• The applicant's monthly income should be 15,000 or low
• The applicant's age should be between 18 to 40 years

• It provides a financial benefit of Rs. 6000 per year to all landholding farmers’ families, which eases their liquidity constraints.
