CRED launches P2P UPI payments on its app

Current Context: CRED has launched UPI-based peer-to-peer (P2P) payments on its app. This means that CRED members can now send and receive money from anyone in their contact list, whether they are CRED members or not, using their phone numbers or UPI IDs.

  • CRED claims that this feature will provide a trusted and rewarding payment experience for its users. Some of the benefits of using CRED UPI P2P are:
    • Payment reminders for recurring transactions
    • Custom VPA for enhanced privacy
    • Nudges for payment protection in risky scenarios
    • Cashbacks and rewards for both payer and payee
    • Multiple payment options including bill payments, scan-and-pay, tap-to-pay, CRED Pay, and CRED flash
    • CRED is a fintech platform that rewards users for paying their credit card bills on time. It has over 11 million members and offers various services such as cash, mint, pay, max, rewards, store and travel.
