Current Context: The ‘City Beauty Competition’ is a national-level initiative launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) to celebrate the beauty and diversity of urban areas in India.

  • The competition aims to encourage and recognize the transformational efforts made by cities and wards to create beautiful, innovative and inclusive public spaces.
  • The competition has two award categories: Beautiful Wards and Beautiful Public Spaces. The wards and public spaces will be judged on five criteria: accessibility, amenities, activities, aesthetics and ecology.
