- International:
- The World Bank (WB) has agreed to provide a loan of 2.25 billion US dollars to Bangladesh for its five development schemes on regional trade and connectivity, disaster preparedness and environmental management

- FPIs and the banking and financial services sector: According to latest shareholding data, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) reduced their holdings in many of the private sector banks in India by almost Rs 29,921 crore in FY23 as they sold off their shares in the fourth quarter

- Appointment:
- Qantas Airways Ltd appointed its finance chief Vanessa Hudson as its new chief executive officer on May 2, making her the first woman to lead the airline. The company announced that Hudson will succeed Alan Joyce, who will retire in November
