    • Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released a report on Currency and Finance (RCF) for the year 2022-23 on May 03, 2023. The report recommends India to introduce a broad-based carbon pricing system in line with emerging global best practices to meet the country’s climate goals
    • Cashfree Payments and YES BANK have joined forces to offer ‘Global Collections’, an international collection service for exporters who are account holders of YES BANK. Under this partnership, the Bank’s account holders will be able to collect payments in over 30 foreign currencies using the Global Collections service
    • Axis Bank and India Shelter Finance Corporation Ltd (IndiaShelter) have announced a strategic partnership under the co-lending model to offer secured MSME loans to middle and low-income borrowers in semi-urban areas
    • The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of 100 percent shareholding of Tower Vision India by Ascend Telecom Infrastructure and GIP EM Ascend 2 Pte Ltd12. Ascend Telecom Infrastructure and GIP EM Ascend 2 Pte Ltd are funds and investment vehicles owned and controlled by Global Infrastructure Management LLC
    • Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy laid the foundation stone for Rs 21,844 crore Vizag Tech Park, a subsidiary of Adani Group company which will house 300 mega watt (MW) data centres
    • Labour Ministry has clarified that it would draw 1.16% additional contribution from within the overall 12% of the contribution of the employers into the provident fund while computing the pension on higher wages, thus complying with the Supreme Court directive dated November 4, 2022

    • South Korea will provide up to USD 3 billion to Bangladesh for the construction of its metro line MRT Line 4, procurement of CNG buses and modernisation of the railway signalling system. A new Framework Arrangement was signed on Thursday, May 4 at Incheon

  • Appointments:
    • The Indian government has officially announced the appointment of Justice T.S. Sivagnanam as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. He had been serving as the Acting Chief Justice since March 31, 2023
    • HDFC ERGO General Insurance has announced the elevation of Anuj Tyagi as Joint Managing Director of the Company. The elevation was approved by the Nomination & Remuneration Committee and the Board of Directors of the Company during their meeting held on 27th April 2023 in Mumbai
