MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan Flags off 406 Veterinary Ambulances

Current Context: This is a new initiative by the Madhya Pradesh government to provide emergency treatment services for cows and other animals in the state. The ambulances will operate in urban areas and all development blocks of the state.

• The CM also announced a toll-free number (1962) that would be used to avail the service. He also announced Rs 900 per month to farmers for rearing cows, and 90 per cent subsidy for tribal people to buy cows.
• He also stressed on the need to make profitable the byproducts related to cow rearing, such as cow dung, cow urine and CNG. He also promised strict action against cattle smuggling and slaughter.
