Current Context: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)-led consortium has bagged a Rs 15,000-crore contract from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to deploy 4G network for the state-run telco.

  • The deal has been in the works for many months. The TCS-led consortium that will deploy this order includes the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) and Tejas Networks. BSNL has issued Advance Purchase Order (APO) to TCS as well as ITI for this project.
