Current Context: New portal launched by the Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on June 1, 2023. The portal will act as a one stop repository to assess investment and participation in Biogas/CBG sector at pan India level and streamline the process of setting up CBG/Biogas plants in India.

• The portal will also enable availing of multitude of benefits and support from the Ministries & Departments of Government of India.
• The portal is part of the GOBARdhan initiative, which aims to convert waste to wealth towards promoting circular economy
• Biogas generation reduces soil and water pollution by recycling organic waste that would otherwise end up in landfills or water bodies.
