Current Context: Tamil Nadu government has signed six memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Japanese companies towards an investment of around Rs 818.9 crores in the State.

  • The MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in Tokyo on Monday. The MoUs cover various sectors such as manufacturing, construction, engineering and trade.
  • The MoUs are expected to create more than 3,000 jobs in the State. This is the third set of MoUs signed by the state government during the nine-day business trip of Stalin
  • It will create more jobs for the local people and boost their income and living standards.It will also enhance the infrastructure and network capacity of the state and improve its connectivity and accessibility
