  • The agreement between SpaceX and Mongolia was signed on July 6, 2023, after a virtual meeting between Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.
  • The project, called Starlink, aims to provide satellite internet service to “people in remote locations… in every corner of our vast country,” according to Minister of Digital Development and Communication Uchral Nyam-Osor.
  • Starlink currently operates in 56 countries and has over 1,800 satellites in orbit.
