  • National:

    • TLMAL, a joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems Limited and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, recently delivered the 200th C-130J Super Hercules empennage. An empennage is the tail structure located at the rear of an aircraft.
    • The Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC), India’s indigenous satellite navigation system, is set to be integrated into Aadhaar enrolment devices. This strategic move, as revealed by the Department of Space (DoS), showcases the seamless amalgamation of advanced technologies to enhance the functionality and reach of essential services.
    • the government has tabled a bill in the Rajya Sabha on August 10, 2023, to exclude the Chief Justice of India (CJI) from the panel to appoint the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Election Commissioners (ECs).
    • A total of six infrastructure projects worth more than 28 thousand crore rupees have been recommended under PM GatiShakti. Three projects each are related to Railways and Road Transport and Highways.
    • Reliance General Insurance Company Ltd (RGICL) has been awarded the contract for implementing the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) and the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) Phase 6 in the state of Meghalaya by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Meghalaya.

    • P Jayarama Bhat, the former Chairman of Karnataka Bank Ltd, passed away in Mangaluru on Wednesday. He was 72 years old and is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.

    • Justice Subhasis Talapatra was sworn in as the 33rd Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court on Tuesday, succeeding former Chief Justice Dr. S. Muralidhar, who superannuated. The oath ceremony was administered by Prof. Ganeshi Lal, the Governor of Odisha.
