  • The post office building was constructed using 3D concrete printing technology, which is a fully automated process that uses a robotic printer to deposit concrete layer by layer as per the approved design.
  • The building has a built-up area of 1,021 sq ft and was completed in just 43 days, which is much faster and cheaper than the conventional methods of construction.
  • The project was carried out by Larsen & Toubro Limited with technological support from IIT Madras under the guidance of Professor Manu Santhanam.
  • The post office was inaugurated by Union Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw on August 18, 2023. He praised Bengaluru for presenting a new picture of India and said that the 3D-printed post office embodies the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).
