Current Context: ‘Just Ask!’ chatbot that was launched by the Madhya Pradesh government and the UNFPA. It’s a great initiative to provide accurate and reliable information on social issues and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) among adolescents and young adults in India.

  • The ‘Just Ask!’ chatbot is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) digital engagement platform that helps users learn about their SRHR in a safe, personalized, and non-judgmental way.
  • The chatbot features two role models, Dhruv and Drishti, who communicate information in a simple and relatable manner.The chatbot also links users to Adolescent Friendly Health Clinics (AFHCs), government health facilities, and helplines.
  • The ‘Just Ask!’ chatbot was developed by UNFPA sexual and reproductive health experts in close collaboration with the Government of India’s Department of Public Health and Family Welfare.
  • The ‘Just Ask!’ chatbot aims to address the critical need for SRHR awareness among young people in India, who often face barriers such as stigma, myths, misinformation, and lack of access to quality services.
