  • National:
    • NITI Aayog has successfully completed the Special Campaign 2.0 for the disposal of pending matters and Swachht.     • Indian fashion designer Rahul Mishra was conferred with the insignia of Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by the French government.
    • India’s U-16 team emerged as the champions of the SAFF U-16 Championship 2023 by defeating Bangladesh 2-0 in a thrilling final. The goals were scored by Bharat Lairenjam and Levis Zangminlun.
    • The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (Absorption of Employees into Government Service) Bill-2023 has received the assent of Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.
    • The Chief Justice of India, D.Y. Chandrachud, announced that the Supreme Court of India is now ‘onboard’ with the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG). This is a significant development as it allows real-time access to data on pending cases.
    • From October 1, all reported births and deaths in India will be digitally registered on the Centre’s portal. This initiative is through the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, 2023, which introduces digital birth certificates.
  • Economy:
    • The Odisha government has indeed unveiled a special subsidy scheme to boost stainless-steel production. The scheme offers a 20% capital investment subsidy, electricity duty exemption, land allocation, and Employee Provident Fund reimbursement.
    • Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) indeed paid a dividend of 1,831.09 crore to the Centre for the fiscal year 2022-23. This reflects the strong performance and profitability of LIC. It’s also a testament to the trust that millions of policyholders have in LIC.
  • World:
    • NASA has indeed released a report on its yearlong study into Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) or what they refer to as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs).NASA stated that the study of UFOs will require new scientific techniques, including advanced satellites.
  • Obituary:
    • N. S. Srinivasan, a respected and well-known expert in roads, road research, road transport and road safety circles, passed away at his residence in Chennai. He was the founder director of National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC), Thiruvananthapuram.
  • Important Days:
    • Hindi Diwas is celebrated on September 14 every year. This day commemorates the event when Hindi was adopted as one of the official languages of India by the Constituent Assembly of India in 1949.
