India and US Launches RETAP Under Strategic Clean Energy Partnership

Current Context: India and the United States held a meeting on Tuesday to launch the new U.S. - India Renewable Energy Technology Action Platform (RETAP) under the Strategic Clean Energy Partnership.

• The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNREP) said that it is intended to advance new and emerging renewable technologies with a view toward deployment and scaling.
• The renewable energy platform has an initial focus on green hydrogen, wind power, long-duration energy storage, and the exploration of geothermal energy
• RETAP stands for Renewable Energy Technology Action Platform. It is a new initiative launched by India and the US under the Strategic Clean Energy Partnership.
