Current Context: The Tamil Nadu government is launching a new scheme called the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam or Kalaignar Women Entitlement Scheme on September 15, 2023, which is the birth anniversary of DMK founder C N Annadurai.

• The scheme aims to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000 to over 1.06 crore eligible women heads of family.
