Telangana & Tabreed signed MoU

Current Context: Tabreed, a cooling-as-a-service provider from Abu Dhabi, UAE, has partnered with the Telangana government to develop Asia’s largest district cooling system (DCS) in Hyderabad.

• The project will involve an investment of $200 million to create 125,000 refrigeration tons of cooling infrastructure for the Hyderabad Pharma City.
• The project aims to provide sustainable and cost-efficient cooling services for industrial and commercial units in the region.
• The project is expected to save 6,800 GWh of power and 41,600 mega litres of water, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 6.2 million tons of CO2 over the project lifetime.
• The project will also help mitigate the heat island effect and enhance the quality of life in Hyderabad.
