- National:
- The High-Level Committee (HLC) on One Nation, One Election (ONOE) under the chairmanship of Former President Ram Nath Kovind held its second meeting in New Delhi, on 25th October 2023. During this meeting, a website www.onoe.gov.in was launched.
- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $400 million policy-based loan to India for Subprogram 2 of the Sustainable Urban Development and Service Delivery Program.
- Amitava Mukherjee, the Director of Finance at NMDC, has had his tenure extended as the acting Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of NMDC. Mukherjee, has been extended for a further period from 01.09.2023 to 19.11.2023.
- The Indian Army has inaugurated its first vertical wind tunnel (VWT) at the Special Forces Training School (SFTS) in Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh. This state-of-the-art facility will simulate real-life free fall conditions, allowing military trainees to enhance their skills in combat free fall (CFF).
- Skyroot Aerospace, an emerging player in the Indian private space industry, recently unveiled Vikram I, its rocket designed for delivering satellites to low earth orbit.
- The 7th India Mobile Congress 2023 was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Bharat Mandapam on 27th October, in New Delhi. This event is Asia’s biggest telecom event.
- The 16th Urban Mobility India Conference has indeed begun in New Delhi. The conference was inaugurated by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

- China launched the Shenzhou-17 manned spacecraft to its space station, Tiangong, on 26th October 2023. The mission is the twelfth crewed and seventeenth flight overall of the Shenzhou program.
- On October 24, 2023, a significant number of women in Iceland, including the Prime Minister, participated in a 24-hour strike. This event, known as the “Women’s Day Off” or “Kvennafrí” in Iceland.
- Sports:
- The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has indeed become a member of the steering group of the International Competition Network (ICN). This is a significant achievement as it’s the first time that the CCI has secured this membership.

- Appointments:
- Robert Fico has been appointed as Slovakia’s Prime Minister for the fourth time. This appointment was officially announced by Slovakia’s president, Zuzana Čaputová.
- Mr. Swarup Anand Mohanty, Director and Key Personnel of AMC, has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the AMC with effect from October 24, 2023. This makes him the first non-Korean to hold this role.
- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has indeed recognized the talented actor Rajkummar Rao as its National Icon. This appointment was made on October 26. The actor has signed an MOU with the ECI to promote voter education and turnout.
- Amol Muzumdar, a pioneer of Indian domestic cricket, has been appointed as the head coach of the Indian women’s cricket team. He takes over from Ramesh Powar, who was removed as coach in December last year as part of a BCCI internal restructuring.
