Current Context: The Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has recently adopted the indigenously built advanced air traffic management automation system (ATMAS).

  • The ATMAS is a collaboration between the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).

  • The system was thoroughly tested over the last two to three months before its inauguration.
