IOC & Reliance Foundation Signed Agreement for OVEP

Current Context: OVEP stands for Olympic Values Education Programme, which is an initiative led by the Olympic Museum that aims to promote Olympic values through sport among young people.

• The agreement was signed by IOC President Thomas Bach and Nita Ambani, IOC Member in India and Reliance Foundation Founder Chairperson, on 9 October 2023 in Mumbai.
• The agreement builds on the success of OVEP in India, which was launched in 2022 with the Abhinav Bindra Foundation in the Indian state of OdishA.
• The agreement underscores the organisations’ shared priority to reach out to all children and young people, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds who may not always have access to sport and healthy lifestyles.
• With this partnership, they hope to positively impact the 250 million school-going children of India, reaching out to the remotest villages and regions, giving them options for a more disciplined, healthier, fitter and wholesome lifestyle.
• The agreement also involves the Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) football academy, which is a residential football school that provides holistic education and training to talented young footballers.
