  • National:
    • On November 21, 2023, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) released the 11th edition of the list of BBC 100 Women 2023 which includes four Indian women viz. Actress Dia Mirza, Cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur, Photographer Arati Kumar-Rao, and Tibetan Buddhist nun Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo.

    • OneWeb India received the necessary authorizations to launch Eutelsat OneWeb’s commercial satellite broadband services in India on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. This makes OneWeb India the first organization to be granted this authorization.
    • The Supreme Court directed the Central government to establish a new delimitation commission on November 23, 2023. This is for ensuring a proportional representation of the communities specified as Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs).
    • The Global Professional Accountants Convention was held from November 24th to November 26th, 2023 at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This Convention was inaugurated by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The convention was organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
    • The world’s first 3D-printed temple is being built in Telangana, a state in India. It is a three-part structure with three sanctums dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Lord Shankar, and Goddess Parvati. The temple is a collaboration between Apsuja Infratech, a Hyderabad-based construction company, and Simpliforge Creations, a 3D-printed construction company.
  • International:
    • Geert Wilders, the leader of the far-right anti-Islam Party for Freedom (PVV), won a shock victory in the Dutch parliamentary elections on November 22, 2023. His party gained 35 seats in the 150-seat lower house, more than double the 17 it won in the previous election in 2017.
  • Banking & Insurance:
    • The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of an additional stake in Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company by Bupa Singapore Holdings Pte. The transaction relates to the secondary purchase of shares by Bupa Singapore Holdings in the Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company from Fettle Tone LLP.
    • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed penalties totaling Rs 10.34 crore on Citibank, Bank of Baroda, and Indian Overseas Bank for non-compliance with certain norms. 5 Crore on Citibank, 4.34 crore on Bank of Baroda, and 1 crore on Indian Overseas bank.

    • Department of Social Justice & Empowerment signed a MoU with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) for Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) in the presence of Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment Dr. Virender Kumar, senior officers of the Department and senior members of the ISKCON on 23rd November 2023 in New Delhi. It aims to create awareness about the ill effects of substance abuse among the youth, with a special focus on higher education institutes, university campuses, schools, and communities.
    • The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (Divyangjan) took significant strides towards inclusivity through two groundbreaking Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) signed on November 20, 2023, in Dehradun. They aim to provide equal access to information and knowledge without delay or additional expense in their own language.
    • Blue Dart Express Limited has indeed partnered with India Post to introduce automated digital parcel lockers at selected post offices. The partnership was announced on November 20, 2023, in Gurgaon’s Unitech, Cyber Park.The objective of the partnership between Blue Dart and India Post is to introduce automated digital parcel lockers at selected post offices.
  • Sports:
    • Novak Djokovic won his seventh ATP Finals title on November 19, 2023. This victory took place in Turin, Italy. With this win, Djokovic surpassed the record of retired great Roger Federer.
  • Important Days:
    • Every year on 24th November, the Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur is observed. Guru Tegh Bahadur was the ninth Guru of the Sikh faith. He sacrificed his life on November 24, 1675, to uphold the freedom of religion and protect the oppressed. This day commemorates his courage, compassion, and commitment to religious freedom.
    • The World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence is observed annually on November 18. This day was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on November 7, 2022, through resolution A/RES/77/8. The theme for the 2023 observance is "Strengthening Prevention: A Collective Responsibility".
  • Obituaries:
    • Justice M. Fathima Beevi, the first woman Judge of the Supreme Court, has indeed passed away at the of 96. Justice Fathima Beevi was elevated to a judge of the Supreme Court in 19894. She was also the first Muslim woman to be appointed to any of the higher judiciaries in the country.
    • Nongthombam Maipak, the former Mr. India and a bodybuilding legend from Manipur passed away due to a pulmonary infection. He was 88 years old. He served as a Sports Officer at the rank of Sub-Inspector in Manipur Police from 1970 to 1973.
