  • National:
    • Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, announced the first-ever Khelo India Para Games. The games will be held in New Delhi from 10th December to 17th December.

    • The Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh is set to become the state’s first solar expressway. The expressway is 296 km long. The Uttar Pradesh government plans to set up solar power plants on 1700-hectare land along the Bundelkhand Expressway.
    • India will assume the chairmanship of the International Sugar Organisation (ISO) for 2024. This is a significant achievement for the country and reflects its growing stature in the global sugar sector.
    • The Afghanistan Embassy in New Delhi has announced its permanent closure effective from November 23, 2023. The decision was made due to persistent challenges from the Indian government. The embassy had earlier ceased operations on September 30, 2023, in the hope that the Indian government’s stance would evolve favorably for the normal continuation of the mission.
  • International:
    • The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially requested China to provide detailed information on an increase in respiratory illnesses and reported clusters of pneumonia in children. This request was made following a press conference held by Chinese authorities from the National Health Commission on November 13, 2023, where they reported an increase in the incidence of respiratory diseases in China.
  • Mous:
    • The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on semiconductors between India and the European Union (EU) was signed on Friday, November 24, 2023, in New Delhi. The MoU was signed ahead of the India-EU Trade and Technology Council meeting. The MoU on semiconductors between India and the European Union (EU) is to increase the resilience of the semiconductor value chain in both India and the EU.
    • The World Bank and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (the Global Fund) signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 22, 2023 in Washington, D.C. The main objective of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the World Bank and the Global Fund is to strengthen health systems in countries of the Global South.
    • The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Amazon India and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) was signed on November 23, 2023, in New Delhi. The collaboration aims to enable exporters and MSMEs to sell their ‘Made in India’ products to customers internationally.
  • Sports:
    • Anish Bhanwala won the bronze medal at the ISSF World Cup Final 2023 on Friday, November 24, 2023 in Doha, Qatar. This was India’s first medal in the 25m rapid fire pistol event in the history of the ISSF World Cup Final.
    • In the World Wushu Championship 2023, India indeed had a commendable performance Roshibina Devi won a silver medal in the women’s 60kg category.
    • Anahat Singh won the National Squash Championship 2023 on November 23, 2023. Anahat Singh, a 15-year-old prodigy, became the second youngest player to win the Senior National Squash Championship women’s title in 2023.
  • Awards & Honors:
    • The ‘Best Employer in Diversity & Inclusion’ Award by ASSOCHAM was received by Shri TSC Bosh, the Executive Director of REC Limited. He accepted the award on behalf of the company on 23rd November 2023.
  • Appointments:
    • Ravindra Jadeja, the renowned Indian cricketer, has been appointed as the brand ambassador for AS-IT-IS Nutrition, a trusted leader in the fitness and sports nutrition sector.     • Veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Kohli, known for films like Jaani Dushman, Nagin, and Pati Patni Aur Tawaif, passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 93.
