Current Context: The Letter of Intent (LoI) in Public Administration and Administrative Reforms is a document that was signed by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) of India and the Ministry of Public Sector Transformation and the Civil Service of France on November 2, 2023.

  • The LoI aims to enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of good governance, administrative reforms, digital transformation, public grievance redressal, and other areas of mutual interest.
  • The LoI will be valid for three years and will be implemented by a Joint Working Group that will be established under its aegis.
  • The LoI reflects the close and friendly relations between India and France and their commitment to share best practices and learn from each other’s experiences in public administration and governance.
