Current Context: The Memorandum of Intent (MoI) between India and the Netherlands on cooperation in the field of medical product regulation was signed during the 2nd World Local Production Forum (WLPF) which took place in The Hague, Netherlands.

  • The forum was organized from 6 to 8 November 2023.
  • The Indian delegation was led by Shri Bhagwant Khuba, Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers.
  • India and the Netherlands have signed a Memorandum of Intent (MoI) to cooperate on the regulation of medical products.
  • This collaboration aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services in both countries.
  • The MoI was signed during a meeting of Bhagwant Khuba, Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilisers from India, and Ernst Kuipers, Minister of Health, Welfare and Sports of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
  • In addition, an Indian delegation led by Shri Bhagwant Khuba participated in the Second World Local Production Forum (WLPF) held in The Hague, Netherlands.
  • The WLPF is a platform created by the World Health Organization (WHO) with the aim of increasing access to medicines and other health technologies.
