18 New Products of Uttarakhand gets GI Tag

Current Context: On December 4, 2023, Uttarakhand became the 1st state in the country to get GI certificates for a maximum of 18 products in a single day. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed GI certificates in a program organized at Chief Sevak Sadan located at the Chief Minister's residence.
18 New Products of Uttarakhand gets GI Tag
  • The 18 new products of Uttarakhand that got GI tag are :
    • Uttarakhand Chaulai (Ramdana) (Fox tail Millet ), Uttarakhand Jhangora, Uttarakhand Lal Chawal (Red Rice), Uttarakhand Mandua, Almora Lakhori Mirchi, Uttarakhand Berinag Tea, Ramnagar Nainital Litchi, Ramgarh Nainital Aadu (Peach), Uttarakhand Malta Fruit, Uttarakhand Pahari Toor Dal, Uttarakhand Gahat(Horse gram), Uttarakhand Kala Bhat, Uttarakhand Bichhu Buti (Nettle) Fabrics, Kumaoni Rangwali Pichhoda Products, Chamoli Wooden Ramman Mask, Uttarakhand Likhai (wood carving), Uttarakhand Buransh Sharbat, and Nainital Mombatti (Candle).
  • The 9 products from Uttarakhand – Tejpat, Basmati Rice, Aipan Art, White Rajma of Munsiyari, Ringal craft, Thulma, Bhotiya, Chiura Oil and Copper products have already received GI tag.
