- The MoU was signed on December 7, 2023 at Gandhinagar in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju.
- The MoU aims to develop 11 airports in the state under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
- These airports are located in Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Surat, Porbandar, Mehsana, Mandvi, Amreli, Kandla, Keshod and Deesa, which fall under un-served-underserved category.
- The MoU also covers the development of four water aerodromes at Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, Sardar Sarovar dam a Kevadia colony, Shetrunjay dam at Palitana and Dharoi dama in Mahesana under RCS Udan-3 and .
