SREC & Council for Leather Exports Signed MoU to Strengthen Indian Leather Sector

Current Context: The MoU between SREC and CLE was signed on Thursday, December 22, 2023 in Delhi. this is a strategic partnership to promote innovation and upskilling in the Indian leather industry.

• The MoU, effective from 1 January 2024 till 31 December 2028, aims to train 150,000 workers, facilitate access to cleaner technology, and support green and circular leather practices.
• This is expected to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the Indian leather sector in domestic and international markets.
• The MoU also aligns with the ‘Make in India’ motto of the Government of India.
