Current Context: The Uttar Pradesh government presented its first supplementary budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 in the state legislative assembly on November 30, 2023.
  • The size of this supplementary budget for the financial year 2023-24 is more than Rs 28,760.67 crore.
  • This budget was presented by Finance Minister Suresh Khanna.
  • However, it’s worth noting that the Leader of Opposition and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav criticized the supplementary budget, pointing out that the BJP government in the state has passed a supplementary budget.
