C-DOT Wins 3 Awards For Telecom Innovations At 14th Aegis Graham Bell

Current Context: The Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), India’s premier Telecom R&D centre, won three awards at the 14th Annual Aegis Graham Bell Awards.

• The awards were for its indigenously designed and developed innovative Telecom solutions in various categories.
• Here are the details:
• Innovation in AI: The first award was jointly shared with Google India for its pioneering ASTR Project. ASTR (AI & Facial Recognition-powered Solution for Telecom SIM Subscriber Verification) is designed to analyze, identify, and eliminate fake/forged mobile connections.
• Innovation in Social Good: The second award was for its groundbreaking CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) solution. CEIR helps in revolutionizing mobile security by detecting clone IMEIs, restricting the import of counterfeit mobile devices, and also enabling the blocking and tracing of lost or stolen phones.
• Innovation in Telecom: The third award was for its Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) product. This revolutionary solution employs quantum mechanics to create an unbreakable cryptographic protocol even with Quantum computers.
• The awards ceremony was held on 21st February, 2024 at NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi.
