India’s NIA and Thailand’s DTAM Sign MoU for Collaboration in Ayurveda and Thai Traditional Medicine

Current Context: On February 27, 2024, the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) in Jaipur, India, and the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM) of Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi, India.
India’s NIA & Thailand’s DTAM signed MoU to collaborate in Ayurveda & Thai Traditional Medicine
  • This MoU was formalized during the 10th India-Thailand Joint Commission Meeting. 
  • The collaboration aims to promote, facilitate, and develop academic collaboration in the field of Ayurveda and Thai Traditional Medicine.
  • This MoU was signed by Bishwajit Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, and Dr. Taweesin Visanuyothin, Director General, DTAM.
  • It will enable the exchange of experts for research and training programs, academic and technical activities, and conducting research.
  • It will also facilitate the exchange of information, technologies, and best practices of traditional medicine.
  • The participants will support each other with mutual cooperation and collaborative activities by facilitating training courses in Thailand and India.
  • They will also conduct collaborative research studies on diseases of common interest.
