Current Context: The Science for Women-A Technology & Innovation (SWATI) portal was launched in New Delhi.

The SWATI portal is an initiative of India's Inter-Academy Panel (IAP).
It was announced by Dr. Renu Swarup, then Secretary of DBT, and is dedicated to all Indian Women in Science.
The National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR) developed, hosted, and maintained the portal.
It serves as a gateway to view the expertise and contributions of Indian Women in Science.
The portal allows self-registration of profiles of women students, faculty, and scientists across levels capturing expertise, qualifications, publications, etc.
The SWATI portal was launched globally on Sunday, Feb 11, 2024, at the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi.
The SWATI portal is a significant step towards addressing the gender gap in the STEM fields and celebrating the contributions of women in science.
It’s a dynamically growing portal to include data of all women scientists in the country.
