Current Context: Wencai Zhang has been appointed as the Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Administrative Officer.

• This announcement was made by the World Bank Group on February 20, 2024.
• Wencai Zhang, a Chinese national, brings a wealth of strategic and operational experience in development and with Multilateral Development Banks.
• He will oversee the transformation of the Bank Group’s Budget, Planning and Strategy and Information and Technology Services.
• He will also manage several corporate units including corporate procurement, general services, security, health and safety, as well as the Sanctions System.
• Before this appointment, Wencai Zhang served as the Vice President at the Export-Import Bank of China.
