Digital Intelligence Platform and Chakshu Portal launched on Sanchar Sathi portal

Current Context: The Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP) and Chakshu Portal were launched on the Sanchar Saathi portal on 4th March 2024.

• Here’s a brief overview of these initiatives:
• Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP): Developed by the Department of Telecommunications, DIP is a secure and integrated platform for real-time intelligence sharing, information exchange, and coordination among stakeholders such as Telecom Service Providers (TSPs), law enforcement agencies (LEAs), banks and financial institutions (FIs), social media platforms, and identity document issuing authorities.
• Chakshu Portal: This portal, developed under the Sanchar Saathi Initiative, integrates with Sanchar Saathi. It empowers citizens to proactively report suspected fraud communication. Users can report fraudulent communication done through fake calls, SMS, e-mail, etc. Complaints related to bank accounts, payment wallets, and SIM cards can also be made.
• These tools were launched by the Minister of Communications, Railway, and Electronics & Information Technology, Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, in the presence of the Minister of State for Communications, Mr. Devusinh Chauhan.
• They are part of the government’s efforts to check cyber-frauds under the secure India project.
