M V Rao Elected as New Chairman of Indian Banks Association

Current Context: M V Rao, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Central Bank of India, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) for the term 2023-24.

• The decision was made at a meeting of the Managing Committee of IBA on March 21st, 2024.
• In addition to this, three Deputy Chairmen have been named for IBA:
• Dinesh Kumar Khara, Chairman, State Bank of India
• S L Jain, MD and CEO, Indian Bank
• N Kamakodi, Managing Director and CEO, City Union Bank.
• The Honorary Secretary of the Association is Madhav Nair, Country Head and CEO, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait.
